Peppermelon

  • 1/4 c watermelon chunks, muddled + slice for garnish

  • 2 limes

  • 1 oz black pepper simple syrup*

  • 2 oz Blanco tequila

  • Splash Backyard Soda Ginger-Lime cocktail syrup


  • 1 c sugar

  • 1 c water

  • fresh, coarse cracked black pepper

  • salt for rim

Muddle 1/4 cup watermelon chunks in a martini shaker with the juice of 2 limes.

Add 1 oz black pepper simple syrup and Blanco tequila.

Shake with ice and strain over rocks into a salt-rimmed glass.

Top with splash of Ginger Lime syrup and garnish with a watermelon slice.



*Pepper syrup directions: Bring 1 c sugar, 1 c water, and and ample amount of fresh coarse cracked black pepper to a boil to dissolve the sugar.

Simmer for 5 minutes.

Let rest and infuse until desired pepper flavor has been reached (about 10 minutes). Strain into a bottle.
